CREATE A SPACE TO CONNECT AND UNWIND

Lounge seating is a good way to accommodate your guests in a cosy and relaxed environment that feels less formal and intentionally conversational. Brilliant as a catchment area, lounge seating can easily double up as a quiet area post-dinner when the dancing starts

PRO Tips

  • Always provide a coffee and/or side table for drinks so they don’t go on the ground.

  • Mix fabrics, textures and materials to create a lounge area that feels effortless and intentional. While cohesion and coordination are important matching everything may feel flat.

  • Pick 3-4 colours, 2-3 textures or materials and 1-2 prints or patterns.

  • Make sure there is at least 60cm of space between key objects which will need to allow guest flow.

  • After dinner, make sure there is enough seating for those less able to stand but not enough to seat more than 30% of your guests at one time so that the majority still mingles and engages on the dance floor.

  • Remove the smoking area from the action so your guests have a good incentive to come back to the main party instead of creating a hanging out area of their own.
